Biography
I am a migrant and tertiary education worker at the University of Glasgow. In brief, I teach, mentor and coach academics in creating blended and fully online courses. I’m also an active academic citizen: I am a co-lead of The University of Glasgow Decolonising the Curriculum Community of Practice, a member of a research ethics committee and I occasionally review journal articles, too!
My teaching to date has included:
teaching English as a foreign language to adults;
developing courses for and teaching English for academic purposes;
teaching on foundation courses at pre-undergraduate and pre-postgraduate levels;
developing and convening a large module for all Year 1 management school students;
supervising students undertaking Master’s level study.
I have previously worked in learning development, created courses and delivered sessions on academic, digital and research literacies for undergraduate and postgraduate students and created and delivered CPD sessions for staff. I have also developed the knowledge and skills of academic and administrative staff to enable them to create blended and fully online courses.
My scholarly interests include decolonizing education (or decolonising if you wish), academic, digital and critical media literacies and critical pedagogy. My personal interests include photography and travel.
